news to come.
6-22-03
- Read this: Projekt Messerwetzer is complete. A new,
experienced programmer is beginning the next phase of Subsim's SH2/DC
rejuvenation. Frank "Torpex" Kulick is producing
this currently unnamed project. The codework is being done by an individual who
wishes to keep his identity secret, so for now we refer to him as the
Master Planner. The scope of this project is to
junk most of the PM code and rework the multiplayer once again in search of
improved packet transfer (less lag) while
maintaining PM's notable stability. Once that objective is reached, major
feature changes are planned. You wanted the most realistic subsim, you got it!
Details coming--spread the word.

Operation
Deep Combat: The SC-HQ Online Campaign; The game system
is inspired by the board game Risk. Groups of players will comprise Fleets, which at first
will be based on the old adversaries of the USA and Russia (therefore the War will start
with 2 Fleets). The Fleets will occupy certain regions of the globe (each region being
made up of several territories) and will possess the naval assets of those territories.
(There will also be neutral/unoccupied regions/territories.) The Fleets will challenge
each other for control of both occupied and neutral territories, and once the challenge is
made, the Battles begin. The winners of each Battle will gain control of the disputed
territory and all of its naval assets.

the release grows nearer. Look for a new SH2 update here next month. And Happy

SUB CLUB
Mission Statement & Goals
Originated:9-9-00 - Updated 01-28-01;
09-05-01
Silent Hunter II, Destroyer Command,
& Sub Command
SUBSIM Review is working
with SSI and Ultimation to promote online play. We feel that for
multiplay to succeed, a publicized focal point must be provided to allow players
a better chance of finding allies and opponents for an online game. Wolfpack
League will feature the U-boats of the German Kreigsmarine as portrayed in
Silent Hunter II and will be the main foundation of this focal point, with the
companion Eagle League to suit players who want to capture the historical US
Navy perspective.
SUB CLUB is an
International organization comprised of three equal and
distinct divisons: Wolfpack League and Eagle League
for playing Silent Hunter II and Destroyer Command, and Sub Command HQ for
playing Sub Command. We welcome players from every nation.
These are our goals:
-
Seamlessly
integrate the fleet within the SUBSIM Review website so the fleet will benefit
from the 350,000+ hits we are receiving every week--instant recognition.
-
Work
with SSI and Ultimation to improve the sim and get our ideas taken seriously. This
proactive approach will get more results than the pointless, shallow
bickering on the Web.
-
Provide a chat room running within the website to allow players to log in,
form up a game, and play. As this chat membership grows, so does the chance
of your playing SH2/DC/SC online when you wish.
-
Promote the games played with a web-based
scoring database. Before each multi-play game, one member would
be designated the reporter/player. After the game, the member would have a
password to enable him to log down the results of a mission.
-
Create a ranking system that would not show favoritism, just reward results.
There should be no admirals or captains based on seniority.
-
Bring together
players and naval/subsim enthusiasts from around the world.
-
Promote a social
atmosphere among the players of good will and good sportsmanship.
-
To further the
understanding and education of the world's history.
Let us hear from you if you are serious, interested, and can
contribute. You will certainly be welcome to join the League as a player
member even if you cannot contribute anything other than an occasional game
online.
